Surgical Foot Care Specialist

While many foot and ankle problems can be successfully resolved through conservative treatment, surgery may necessary where other techniques haven’t relieved pain or fixed the problem. At Corona Foot & Ankle, podiatrist Dr. Arti Amin is board-certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery and has the experience and expertise to treat both common and complex issues that can necessitate surgery. Whether your problems are congenital, caused by progressive disease, or the result of an injury, she can determine the best course of treatment and guide your recovery process.

When Surgery is Necessary

The foot and ankle make up one of the most complex areas of the body, with 33 bones and over 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Surgery can potentially be necessary on either the bones or the soft tissues to remove abnormalities (such as bone spurs) or to repair damage. Common types of foot surgery include bunion surgery, to remove overgrown bone and realign the joint; Achilles tendon repair, to fix tears that can’t reconnect naturally; plantar fasciitis surgery, to reconnect the plantar fascia; and hammertoe surgery, to allow the affected toe to be straightened. If less invasive options haven’t worked, Corona Foot & Ankle can provide the specialized surgical care you need to get back on your feet.
